Castelbuono Park, art between nature and spirituality

“A journey through art, nature and spirituality. That ‘s what you can take on the hills of Bevagna, in the countryside of Castelbuono, a small medieval town where, in 2010, stands a sculpture park, arrived today to count thirty-seven works. Actually kind of commitment Pro Loco Cantalupo Castelbuono, aided by the experience of Paul Massei, sculptor of Bevagna, and many volunteers.Place in progress, “dynamic”, intended to enrich themselves constantly. Every year, in fact, part of the Culture Week of Peace, between April 25 and May 1, the area is enhanced by one or more sculptures. Local artists and do not offer, free of charge, their own work to be placed at a specific point in the vast area. The territory, in fact, extends between Bevagna and Pian D’Arca, the place, the latter, where between 1212 and 1213, according to tradition, St. Francis gave the sermon to the birds. Kiosk, built in 1926, on the occasion of the seventh anniversary of the death of the saint, celebrating the historic event, helping to strengthen the spiritual sense of the whole project.

The park lives a lively eclecticism, finding space artists from diverse backgrounds and language: from abstraction to figuration, from monumental sculpture delicate object to keep repaired, perhaps even on the streets of Castelbuono. The works – made of marble, stone, bronze, steel, cement, wood, resin – stimulate meditation, in the sign of memory and peace, the beauty and the natural balance, characterizing the site as a container of art in symbiosis between man, nature and art, in the theme of peace and spirituality. ”
