Panicale, the capital of lace and embroidery

On 29 and 30 August Panicale become the world capital of lace and embroidery with the exposition “Show Plot”. Rich program for the third edition: conferences, courses embroidery, impromptu painting, opera and theatrical play, photo exhibition and more.

During  the exposistion will also open the Pan Opera Festival. “In these soft lace,” pièce designed by Virgil Bianconi and Marco Bellussi for piano, voice acting and singing voices, will open the event on August 29 at 21 at the theater Cesare Caporali Panicale.

“Ars Panicalensis – embroidery on tulle of Panicale” today is a mark of quality at the national level and international. From the ancient tradition of new ideas, like the one that will be explored over the weekend in late August: the project “The European way of Lace and Embroidery” to enhance and consolidate the tradition of craftsmanship for which Panicale, the territory of Trasimeno and Umbria are particularly vocati.Il theme will be developed in a special event organized for Saturday 29 entitled “The craftsmanship of past, present and future – Made in Italy and promote the area.”

For this third edition, a particular show was dedicated to embroiderers called “Castle Panicale – Award Anita Belleschi Griffins”and will be introduced on 1 national award extemporaneous painting, entitled “wires in Plot to Panicale. Among laces and stand to discover the beautiful. ” The competition is open to all Italian and foreign artists. The works can be made with any kind of technique, leaving maximum freedom to the participants. Palettes, easels, paints, brushes, tulle, embroidery, views, churches and cloisters, stunning terraces, all useful ingredients to ‘capture’ on canvas and that will stimulate creativity and talent competition.
