Gubbio bronze tables

Behind the seven bronze plates engraved characters whose meaning remained obscure for over five hundred years, it was unleashed over the centuries a real treasure hunt. Now the secrets are revealed, and unearthed stories and customs of the ancestors of all the Italian people: the Ancient Umbria. The city of Gubbio loves remember them in this festival, scheduled this year in early July, which brings to life rituals, customs and gastronomy where we rediscover the origins of many traditions still celebrated in the valleys and mountains of Italy Central.

In the footsteps of the Ancient Umbrian then, with a swirl of commemorations that transport you back in time in a fascinating whirlwind of emotions: from guided tours of the Museum of Palazzo dei Consoli, which preserves the seven precious written records, tasting of “Tastes of the History “with dishes inspired by the ritual foods described in the tables, until the show of acting and representation of sacred ceremonies” The words come from the past … “accompanied by music and dances in the picturesque setting of the Roman Theatre.

Public meetings with linguists, archaeologists and journalists have the opportunity to investigate the events and intriguing aspects of a story that never ceases to amaze.
