Viticoltori Broccatelli Galli

A PORTRAIT OF THE WINERY

Brogal Vini was founded in 1951 by Marcello Broccatelli and Quintilio Galli, who were joined some time later by other members of their families, Gianfranco Galli, Giuseppe and Mauro Broccatelli. Over the past few years the five partners, urged on by an instinctive passion for the work that was already begun, decided to place their bet on the fusion of their agricultural experience with that of their business acumen and bought vineyards in two of the most prestigious wine making districts of Umbria, the only ones with DOCG wines: Torgiano and Montefalco. The combination of the nature of the districts, the professional ability of the partners and their managerial skills resulted in Brogal wines on dinner tables all over the world, with a distribution network that knows no boundaries. The Brogal bottles that we find on the market today are two well known labels: Antigniano and Vignabaldo. They also recently transformed an old farmhouse near Torgiano into an agriturismo, thus branching out into a new enterprise of hospitality that carries with it the firm’s philosophy so deeply imbued with passion, tradition and new technology.

THE VINEYARD AND TERROIR

The soil in which the grapes grow has a medium consistency, it is clayey and contains a goodly amount of limestone, which is ideal for producing wines imbued with deep colours and rife with qualities perfect for long aging. In Torgiano they have some 50 hectares with a southwestern exposure, while in Montefalco they boast 25 hectares of vineyards with an east-south-eastern exposure. They average an altitude of 250m above sea level.

THE GRAPE VARIETIES GROWN

The grape varieties grown are: sagrantino, sangiovese, trebbiano, cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, pinot bianco, canaiolo and malvasia.

Their rOSSO Di MOntefalCO riServa re MiGrante is no less wonderful, as are MOntefalCO rOSSO niDO Del falCO, tOrGianO rOSSO arteO and BianCO KirnaO.
